Since this month's sponsor is the 40th anniversary pop-up edition of The Very Hungry Caterpillar (which is super-cool and sucked both of my kids in, even the 7-year-old, because of the pop-ups), I started thinking about books and what made them special.
I can still remember how enchanted I was with The Very Hungry Caterpillar when I first saw it. The richness of the colors. The beauty of the moon. And the cool holes in the pages as the caterpillar ate his way through all that food.
To this day, whenever I've eaten too much and feel kind of sick, I think, "Maybe I should eat a leaf."
Books have always had a hold on me, and it makes me happy that my kids are sucked in, too.
What memories do you have of books, from when you were a kid, and with your own kids?
